Summer Refresh
As the last month of summer approaches we always like to remind talent to use this time ensuring all materials are up to date. This includes; updating your resume, checking your casting sites, comb through your photos (Do you need to update them? Do you have enough options for the categories you book?) and lastly, this is the time to check in with your agents if you have questions or need guidance. During the busy season, it is the main focus of the agents to grab you as many opportunities as possible. If you have been using the same headshot for 2 yrs and see a decline in requests/bookings, then the easy answer is that your materials are likely in need of a refresh. This is also a great time to seek out workshops and seminars for your craft. Even the top tier talent never stop learning!
TDA Community Meetings
Touching on industry knowledge, our Film/TV agent Sabine Krausch spent the month offering her expertise to our TDA talent. The TDA community meetings are free meetings exclusively for TDA talent to go over industry basics and expectations. She covers everything from self taping to set etiquette, and while some of our seasoned talent may know a lot of this information, there is always new info you can learn. We encourage our talent to sit in on these meetings whenever a new one is released. This is the perfect time to pick your agent's brain and get some insight from the other side of the industry.
#TDA Travels
July was a great month for out of state bookings!
TDA'ers traveled all over the country from Los Angeles to Atlanta. Nanette Orellana was in Nashville filming a commercial, while Tom Copeland spent some time in Atlanta for a feature film. Gley Viera was spotted in New Orleans filming for a luxury car brand and Dante Ayala was on the other side of the US in Los Angeles for a role in a film. We love to follow along with all of your travel posts, NDA compliant of course :)
WIFT Happening
As you may know, TDA's Bianka and Sabine are Board Members & South Florida Co-Chairs for WIFT South Florida. We are excited for the fall/winter season which will provide more networking events, workshops and a PSA project for Children's Harbor. The first meeting to find out more about this endeavor will be sometime in August, location TBD. This will be produced by WIFT Soflo members with the full support of the team from Starling Productions. Stay tuned for event announcements on our blog.
